About

The Author

Dennis Lendrem spent forty years embedded with groups of scientists.  His first study population was at a research centre in the UK where he spent nine years observing a troop of around 120 scientists, with a 50:50 sex ratio, including several breeding pairs.  Since then he has worked in a variety of industries observing troops of scientists held in institutions worldwide.  From Scotland to Singapore, from Ireland to Pennsylvania. Thoroughly habituated to his presence, Dennis was able to observe closely the scientific behaviours of scientists in naturalistic laboratory settings in a variety of wild habitats -  including universities and industry, the public and private sectors.  Apes in Lab Coats summarizes his detailed field observations and experimental studies of scientists.
