Dennis Lendrem spent forty years embedded with groups of scientists.  His first study population was at a research centre in the UK where he spent nine years observing a troop of around 120 scientists, with a 50:50 sex ratio, including several breeding pairs.  Since then he has worked in a variety of industries observing troops of scientists held in institutions worldwide.  From Scotland to Singapore, from Ireland to Pennsylvania.
